Shawn Kemp, the six-time NBA All-Star and Seattle Supersonics legend, has been booked in relation to an investigation of a drive-by shooting , according to the Pierce County, Washington jail roster.  "At 1:58 pm, an altercation between the occupants of two cars led to shots being fired at a parking lot in the 4500 block of S. Steele St. One car fled," the Tacoma Police Department tweeted. "No injuries were reported. A gun was recovered. A 53-year-old male was booked for Drive-By Shooting. The investigation is ongoing." That tweet did not name Kemp, specifically. However, Kemp is listed on the Pierce County Corrections Booking website with the drive-by shooting listed as the charge. The shooting occurred near the Tacoma Mall, and the investigation is ongoing. That seems to be the idea behind an idea first reported by The Athletic that would go after the overabundance of load management by tying NBA awards to games played for the players striving to win them. Though short on details, the notion centers on making a number of appearances a key factor for the big honors handed out each season.  Load management has, clearly, gone too far. Stephen Curry has been out since Feb. 4 with partial tears in two lower-leg ligaments. The next day, it was reported that Curry would be out for at least a few weeks. Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks has been suspended for one Game after striking Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell in the groin during Cleveland's 128-113 win over Memphis on Thursday night. The league announced the punishment on Friday, with Mitchell receiving a $20,00 fine for his role in the ensuing altercation. The Wednesday night matchup between the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards in Detroit has been postponed due to weather-related travel issues, the NBA announced. A makeup date has not yet been determined by the league. An ice storm in the Dallas area has made it difficult for the Pistons, who lost to the Mavericks on Monday night, to get back home to Detroit. A late-January, Monday-night game between the Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs is not exactly a marquee matchup. Still, there was more on the line in this contest than most people probably realized. With their 127-106 win, the Wizards ended one of the NBA's strangest losing streaks. Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant could be back relatively soon. The team announced Tuesday that he'll return to on-court basketball activities and running this week, and The Athletic reported that he could suit up again before the All-Star Game (Feb. 19) and participate in the game itself.
