Overwatch Fans Share Who They'd Romance In A Spin-Off Dating Sim
In case you missed it, Blizzard released an Overwatch dating sim for Valentine's Day. Called "Loverwatch," this web-based dating sim lets you romance either Genji or Mercy, with a Cupid version of Hanzo showing up to give you tips on how to get either of these legendary heroes into bed. Genji is a little self-absorbed, while Mercy wants you to know that "mobility and overpowered are not the same thing."
Loverwatch is delightfully self-aware, and even notes early on that just two dating options are woefully inadequate when Overwatch 2 has a roster of 36 heroes. The developers of Loverwatch acknowledge the Game as a sort of "test" version, hinting that a more fleshed-out Loverwatch could arrive sometime down the line.
And that has Reddit user hotguylvr asking the obvious question: "who would you romance first?" They're clearly a person of refined culture and taste, as their first choice is the same as mine. "For me, it'd be a tough choice between the Junkers, but in the end, I’d pick Roadhog."
But if not Roadhog, then who? The top pick from the comment section is "Winton," which I'll assume to be Winston, and is also my personal second choice. Winston brings quite a lot to the dating table; he's a kind gorilla who seems like he'd fall all over himself if someone were to ever ask him if he'd like to go out. He's probably not particularly experienced given the lack of hyper-intelligent gorillas, but so long as you're okay with four grasping hands in bed, then Winston is an ideal choice.
Widowmaker seems like a dangerous third pick, but one can hardly deny those legs. Some people just like to bring the possibility of being consumed by their partner to the bedroom, I guess. B.O.B. and Ashe are fourth down the list for ambitious Overwatch fans that think they can handle two heroes at once. And "Daddy Rheinhardt" proves that age is no detriment to dating so long as you like a little role play in your relationship.
Loverwatch is still available to play for now, and we’ll be sure to let you know if it expands its romance options beyond Mercy and Genji.
